I-129 Deemed Exports Certification Decision Tree

The Deemed Export Decision Tree (PDF) must be completed as a part of the immigration sponsorship application process. The purpose of this form is to determine whether an export license may be required for a prospective scholar. If the scholar is expected to have more than one set of duties (e.g., research and clinical duties), analyze each duty separately.

International Shipping Form

Complete the International Shipping Form (PDF or REDCap) prior to making any international shipments. The purpose of this form is to identify any international shipments that require an export license from the U.S. government and/or special U.S. Customs filings.

International Travel Export Control Form

Complete the International Travel Export Control Form (PDF or REDCap)or prior to any international travel. The purpose of the form is to ensure that you and Emory comply with all export control and trade sanction regulations during your travels.

Export Control Assessment Form

Complete Export Control Assessment Form (ECAF) in REDCap if you answered “yes” to the export control question in EPEX. The ECAF must be completed before the research funding is distributed. Review the Temporary (TMP) Tools of Trade License Exception Checklist (PDF) to determine if Emory equipment, software, or technology can be taken abroad without an export license. If the items do not meet the criteria in the checklist, contact exportcontrol@emory.edu.
