ORA Social Justice Working Group Charge

  • To keep ORA staff informed of opportunities to engage in activities on Emory’s campus and in the greater Atlanta area around social justice, diversity, and inclusion. This group is not limited to conversations around race but can include all social justice topics as relevant, (i.e. gender, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, education or mental/physical disabilities.)
  • At least quarterly, this working group should ensure the dissemination of resources or organization of training opportunities to cohorts within ORA. They can promote or develop opportunities for staff to have crucial conversations around social justice topics.
  • Promoting a culture of inclusion and awareness of social justice issues within ORA through the amplification of training and resources.
  • Presents timely information that promotes productive actions/conversation among ORA staff, but is not divisive.
  • Not the social justice police – does not collect reports or concerns – cannot review HR records
  • This working group is not an oversight committee or a regulatory authoritative body directing policy in ORA; however, if the committee is aware of issues impacting ORA staff, they are welcome to submit a proposal for consideration to ORA SR Leadership. This proposal should be submitted through Clara Riddick (Cdriddi@emory.edu)
