The mission of the Office of Research Administration (ORA) is to provide collaborative administrative support, efficient systems, and technical expertise to facilitate scholarship, research, and discovery within the Emory community from inception through application and dissemination.

Strategic Approach

The Office of Research Administration (ORA) will support the overarching mission of the research enterprise by executing three distinct areas of focus:

#1: Developing a Strong and Supported Workforce.

  • Promote professional development and increasing capacity building opportunities
  • Foster a positive and supportive work environment by implementing active listening
  • Identify Al tools to enhance and streamline internal activities and access to information

#2: Pursuing and Reaching Operational Efficiency.

  • Enhance understanding and alignment of research administrative roles and responsibilities across Emory
  • Optimize operational and workflow efficiency
  • Build strong collaborative partnership between ORA and school-based Research Administration offices
  • Implement quality improvement projects, that are inclusive and focus on our objectives and key results (OKRs)

#3: Building a Robust and Resilient Infrastructure.

  • Expand our grants and contracts support through modernizing our Grants Management System
  • Optimize Post-Award processes, including annual reporting and award close out compliance
  • Enhance alignment, infrastructure, and support for our clinical research enterprise
